2. Take Up Your Children’s Hobbies
Whether they play video
games or read book series you would normally avoid at all costs, being aware of
your children’s hobbies can have many benefits.
From conversation points
to understanding what sort of culture your child likes, you can then direct
them to other things.
Plus, it makes buying
them birthday and Christmas presents a touch easier if you know their hobbies.
3. Read
Together
Reading is essential for
personal development. It provides mental stimulation, stress relief,
memory improvement, and vocabulary improvement.
It’s also fantastic for bonding
– reading a story to your kids each evening is a popular family pastime that
can create many positive memories.
Here’re 30 unforgettable kids books you can
consider.
Re-read an old favorite book. Don’t leave it gathering dust on your book shelf; get it out and read it all over again.
4. Sewing
Sewing your own clothes, tailoring your existing clothes. A
sewing machine is to make it easier for people to make their own products from
cloth. Things like clothing, home decor items such as curtains, furniture
covers, decorative pillows, table cloths and napkins, bedding items like
quilts, dust ruffles, pillow shams, etc. And for use in craft products like
doll clothing, wall hangings, stuffed toys, and a huge variety of other things
requiring stitched seams. They are also used for mending cloth items, quilting,
and embroidery. Basically, anything you may buy that is seen can be made at
home for less money. Plus, most people who are find it enjoyable and rewarding.
5. Deep clean your house
Between dusty skirting boards, dirty tiling, and stained
carpets, your home can offer days of distraction if you feel like doing that
deep clean you’ve been putting off.
There are plenty of online cleaning guides if the task looks
too big, and focusing on one room at a time will help you divide up the work.
6. Watch documentaries
In today's online information world it is so easy to watch
documentaries, they are much more interesting than reading and you will accumulate
information much faster. I am interested in documentaries on physics, universe,
history and different cultures.
7. Teach Your Skills to others
Having a shared passion
is a great way to spend some fun, quality, productive time together. What are you good at? then share your skills to your family Well, there’s nothing
stopping you from (at least trying) to get your family interested. If your brother lazy at maths then teach him how over come that lazymind. In today's we have n-number of youtube channels to guide you and learn easily.
8. Learn Something New Together
Of course, you can also
learn a new skill entirely. Thinking of the future, you may want to learn the
basics of web coding. Or you could start blogging on a platform like WordPress,
take up photography, or learn a new sport together.
There are also sites
like Udemy where
you can learn a huge variety of topics at your own pace. Whilst great for
family bonding, it can also set your kids up with some essential new skills.
9. Try a fitness challenge
Missing the gym? There
are plenty of fitness challenges you can try out from home, so you can emerge
from lockdown fitter, leaner, or stronger.
You could try the 100 pushup
challenge, squat challenge, or just doing a 30-day bodyweight workout challenge to
stay healthy at home for free.
Just make sure that you
don’t push too hard early on, and warm up thoroughly before you do any
exercise.
10. Do
an online course; skill up/re-skill
Several reputed
universities are offering free online courses. They range from public speaking
to blockchain technology and almost everything in between. Standford
University’s online.stanford.edu and MIT’s openlearning.mit.edu are among the
most popular.
TED-Ed (ed.ted.com)
is another platform that has high-quality videos on various topics. There are
many other online learning websites that charge you for the courses, but it may
be worth the time and money. Check out sites like Udemy, Skillshare, Coursera,
and others. Some human resource departments of companies are asking their
employees to skill-up during the lockdown. Try to go back to your office with
skill-sets that may serve you in the future.
11. Help fight corona virus
Even if
you're self-isolating, you can help fight against coronavirus by self-reporting your
symptoms each day.
King's
College London is asking people to check in daily on this app -
even if they're feeling well.
This will allow
scientists to better track the spread of the disease, and identify vulnerable
communities.
12. Learn a language
There are plenty of apps
that help you learn a language for free.
Download one, and spend
30 minutes a day teaching yourself how to speak French, German, Japanese - or
whatever language takes your fancy.
Watch your diet. For
many people, boredom = eating, dislocation = eating, loneliness = eating. It is
important to be aware of it. Try to eat healthily.
14. Sleep
Cut down on social media. Endlessly scrolling through Twitter and Instagram is not
healthy. I have been struggling with this one. But an early night is a
good night.
15. Write Diary
Writing a diary is a very
good way to vent your emotions. ... Writing down how you felt on a certain day
helps you come to terms with your feelings. Writing a diary also helps your mind stay organised. When you write about the events you experienced that day, you are subconsciously
cementing them in your memory.
Write down your thoughts. Keep a diary. Make lists.
Call a friend you haven’t spoken to recently and have a good long chat.
17. Try new things
Trying new
things just means you need to experience something different. For example… try tea instead
of coffee. When you try new
things, you'll realize
that new experiences
are life changing.
There are numerous reasons to try something new, so what’s
holding you back? Don’t be afraid of new experiences. Since you only live once,
don’t live your life with regrets. Push your comfort zone and try new things.
You’ll find that you’ll start to look forward to what comes next.
Stay curious. Try new things.
18. Research
As we all
know in today’s world research and development have high importance.
The research process involves identifying, locating, assessing, and
analyzing the information you need to support your research question, and
then developing and expressing your ideas. These are the same skills you need
any time you write a report, proposal, or put together a presentation.
So, try with small questions that you have
and make a report. It will help you to
gain knowledge.
19. Dance
Dancing provides
many great benefits and, while it's not possible to list them all, some of the
greater benefits are listed below:
1.
Dancing allows one to express oneself.
2.
A sense of community is found within the dance.
3.
Dancing provides physical/mental refreshment and relaxation.
4.
Laughter and fun—dancing can provide a lot of entertainment.
5.
Dancing is a form of exercise.
6.
Dancers find inspiration and motivation as they become lost in
the dance.
7. Dancing allows
professional dancers to form affiliations.
So, Why waiting begin
your dance…..LoL However, we have
more youtube
channels to learn dance even if you are a beginner.
20. Chess
One of my favorite game is chess. I use to play
every time. It’s a great fun to me. Rather than playing chess in online play
with your friends give you more happiness. We have more online tutorials for
learning chess g and check for if don’t know basics.
Mastering the
techniques of a champion may take you the rest of your life, but learning the
basics of strategy — observation, planning, judging the quality of an
opponent’s skill — can be picked up relatively swiftly.
Moreover, these are skills that you can apply to every life
situation, and which will stand you in good stead in the realm of interpersonal
interaction. Chess sets can be procured for relatively small sums. Technique
guides are available in both print and online for free.
21. Gardening
Getting your hands dirty in the garden can increase your serotonin levels – contact with soil and a specific soil bacteria, Mycobacterium vaccae, triggers the release of serotonin in our brain according to research.
Serotonin is a happy chemical, a natural anti-depressant and strengthens the immune system. This is why I’m adding gardening to do in your free time activity.
Thank you so much for spending some time for reading my article today, staying home and saving lives.
Stay safe, take care and keep flattening that curve, my friends. We're all in this together!
